Consumer Assistance Program - Vehicle Retirement (Income Qualified)

The Consumer Assistance Program's (CAP) vehicle retirement option offers eligible consumers an incentive to retire their operational vehicle. Consumers meeting the income eligibility requirement may receive up to $2,000 for their retired vehicle. All other vehicle owners may receive $1,350 to retire their vehicle at a BAR-contracted dismantler. To determine your eligibility and incentive amount, start the application process on the program website.
To be eligible for the $2,000 incentive, your gross household income must be less than or equal to 225% of the federal poverty level and your vehicle must fail its most recent Smog Check inspection.

Free EV Charging at City of Sacramento Parking Lots

There is no additional cost to use EV chargers when parked in a City-owned parking facility, with the exception of the Sacramento Valley Station (Lot 293) where payment for both parking and charger access is required. Electric vehicles parked on the street are still subject to posted parking regulations, including payment of meter fees.
To qualify for the Electric Vehicle Parking Program, vehicles must be 100 percent electric. Hybrid vehicles do not qualify for the electric vehicle program. To determine if your vehicle is eligible, DMV must designate your vehicle as being all electric.
